1.2 Your account password is protected through appropriate authentication and security measures. WagGo does not display your password to other users.
2. Location Information
2.1 WagGo may request access to your device location when you choose to use the location-based service area check. Your location is used to determine whether your current location falls within WagGo's service area.
2.2 WagGo does not store your precise device location as part of this service area check.
3. How We Use Your Information
3.1 We use your information to operate and improve WagGo, including to:
- Create and manage your WagGo account
- Confirm whether you are within our service area
- Manage and process dog walk bookings
- Use your registered address as the pickup location
- Manage information about your pet
- Communicate with you about bookings and your account
- Maintain the security and reliability of our services
- Prevent abuse, fraud and excessive automated activity
4. Lawful Basis for Processing
4.1 We process your personal information where it is necessary to perform our contract with you, such as creating your account, confirming your service area and fulfilling a booking.
4.2 We may also process your personal information where necessary to comply with a legal obligation, to protect a legitimate interest of WagGo, our users or the public, or on the basis of your consent, as applicable to the specific processing activity.
5. Payment Information
5.1 WagGo does not collect or store your card or banking information. Payments are processed through PayFast. When you choose to make a payment, you may be redirected to PayFast's payment platform, where your payment information is processed according to their own privacy and security practices.
5.2 WagGo may receive information confirming whether a payment was successful or unsuccessful, but does not store your full payment card details.
6. How We Share Information
6.1 We do not sell your personal information.
6.2 We may share information with service providers where necessary to operate WagGo. This may include payment providers, hosting providers, database providers and other technology services used to operate our platform.
6.3 Information may also be disclosed where required by law or where necessary to protect WagGo, our users, pets, walkers or the public.
7. Cross-Border Transfers
7.1 Some of the service providers we use to operate WagGo, including our hosting, database, and communication service providers, may store or process personal information outside South Africa.
7.2 Where personal information is transferred outside South Africa, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the recipient is subject to a law, binding corporate rules or agreement that provides an adequate level of protection substantially similar to POPIA.
8. Data Security
8.1 WagGo takes reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure. However, no online system can guarantee absolute security.

9.1 We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate WagGo, provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and maintain appropriate business records.

10.1 Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to request access to personal information we hold about you, request corrections to inaccurate information, or request the deletion of information where we are not legally required to retain it.
